Our own business, through our own process.
Mainmade is our own business, so we put it through Read, Shape and Build like any client: as a Concierge client, with a person deciding at each step. The read played back how the founder talks about it. The work decided what it should say instead. Here’s how it went.

What we saw
“I watched the clarity and focus that the work unlocked for her, and in turn, her brand and her practice.”Mainmade’s founder
- What’s clear
- That is the real offer: not cheaper brand work, but the same thinking that large companies pay for, made accessible through a process you have spent years building.
- What’s missing
- You are building for scale, and you are also unwilling to compromise quality. Those two things can coexist, but they will pull against each other the moment a customer at the lower tier gets work that feels like less.
- What’s next
- Write one sentence that says plainly what Mainmade does and who it is for, and put it at the top of your site.
In the owner’s words
What are you willing to be known for — even if it means not being for everyone?
I'm willing to be known for how true our platform reflects back to people, even when that truth is hard to hear. I'm willing to be known for the rigor of our work, even if it means it goes above some people's heads or is overwhelming for some people. I'm willing to be known for our ability to scale, even if it means we're not customizable or high-level enough for some companies.
Note 1: A promise, in the owner’s words.
Mainmade’s founder
The read
In your words, you want to be known for “how true our platform reflects back to people, even when that truth is hard to hear” — that is a promise of honesty, not flattery, and it should come through in every interaction.
Taken October 2026, after Mainmade’s first pass through its own process in July.
02 Shape
What we decided: Main Street, made.
The read heard the founder describing where the thinking comes from: “Enterprise-grade brand thinking, built for founders.” It’s true, and it’s about us. Our own rules say we don’t lead with credentials, so Shape turned the line around, from where the thinking comes from to who it’s for and what they get. The North Star names everyone building on the new Main Street: the shop, the studio, the startup.

How we worked: Concierge
The same process, with working sessions at each step, plus work the standard path doesn’t include.
- 01The strategy, decided in four working rounds in one day and written straight into the Brand System.
- 02How the offer is named: Read, Shape, Build; Standard, Concierge, Premium.
- 03The founding story, for the About page.
- 04The handle, “Main Street, made.”

What we made
One wordmark and one stamp: the awning, in brick, as the full stop. Black ink, paper and night, two fields, cobalt to point, and brick only for the stamp. One type family in three weights. Black-and-white pictures of working life, always captioned. Then the site you’re on, the room where clients receive their work, social, slides, the card and the letters.
